I was really derailed by Garnet Flats, the 3rd book in this series, I did not like it at all. But this book gives me hope because I feel we are getting back into what I love about Devney Perry's books: romance, relationship building, and a bit of suspense.

While the first part of this book suffered from a little too much miscommunication for my liking, once we got the context of Jasper's past it all made a lot more sense. I felt Devney Perry was did a brave thing with where she chose to take Jasper's past. It's not something we see addressed in romance novels much when looking at the mmc.

The second half of this book was a delight. I really liked the new level of steam in this one, we reached new heights!

This was my favorite Edens book so far! I absolutely adored Jasper and Eloise. The mutual pining! The fake marriage with real feelings! *chef’s kiss* I felt like their relationship grew and developed organically throughout the course of the book. I loved seeing each character open up and be vulnerable with each other. Also, the spice? This one was definitely the spiciest Edens book for sure. I couldn’t put this book down because I was just so excited to see what would happen next with Jasper and Eloise. I definitely recommend this book (and series)!

3.75 stars 🌟 I was not ready for the spice in this book. When I tell you Jasper served, I mean he SERVED! Also, that whole Paris thing was such a boss move honestly.

If 2022 taught me anything... it's that I am a Devney Perrygirly through and through.

Eloise Eden's dream is about to come through. Her parents are so close to handing over The Eloise Inn, and all she has to do is stay straight and narrow, proving she's ready for this. This would be easy... except for the fact that she came back from Vegas married.

Vegas was meant to be a fun trip to unwind with her sisters and see Foster Madden's fight (Garnet Flats). It really wasn't supposed to be the night where she gets drunk and marries Foster's trainer/best friend, Jasper Vale after a night of drunk bonding. Now she has to find a way to get this marriage annulled before her family realizes what she did.

After avoiding each other back in Quincy, the two realize that the annulment isn't going to happen as easily as they'd hoped, and it's getting harder and harder to keep the secret from all the Edens. So why keep the secret? Jasper needs a date to a wedding, and Eloise needs to show her parents that she's making the marriage work and it wasn't an irresponsible fluke.

When I finished Garnet Flats, I was immediately ready for Jasper & Eloise’s story. My god it did not disappoint.

Considering the nature of their relationship, their story is so well paced. I don’t think I have ever read a Vegas/drunk wedding style of book but I think this worked really well for an opposites attractstyle book.

From the beginning of the Eden series, we see Eloise as this character with so much heart, warmth, determination, and love, and I think that carries well into this book. I live for a grumpy MMC, and Jasper was so broody, but also so protective of her. As much as I loooove the entire Eden family, Jasper’s initial dislike for them, and the reasons had me swooning for him. HE JUST WANTS TO SUPPORT EL AND HAVE HER DREAMS COME TRUE.

I think Jasper’s back story was a little random, but I can see how it created the character that he is, and I didn’t mind it too much. He’s this tough, silent, broody man but watching his walls come down for Eloise?! BE STILL MY DAMN HEART.

This book has a good amount of he falls first, and watching them navigate this situation they’ve gotten into was so great. They have so much chemistry, and this might be the steamiest Edens book yet. A fantastic addition to the series and a knockout experience. Perfect for fans of fake dating/marriage, grumpy x sunshine, small town romance.

If anyone needs me I’ll be sitting here waiting for Lyla and Mateo’s books.

Thank you so much Valentine PR and Devney Perry for this ARC in exchange of an honest review.
