Another great addition to the Invisible Library series. The beginning was a little slow as the story built up to the back half of the book, and then it went really quickly, it the ending was well worth the build up and the slow start. That is probably one of my favorite endings to a book I've read in a long time. Great action and smart plot twists.

I was really tied for rating this.
I enjoyed it, and have come to love these characters, but at the same time this one felt slower than the previous two. I found myself getting easily distracted while reading it and putting it down for lengths of time.

I will commend Cogman for lowering the use of the words 'dubious' and 'draconic' in this one, though. That was really starting to grind my gears.

Third in the series and still going strong! Irene and her colleagues must face down an existential threat to the Library; it has to do with the recurring villain Alberich, and that's all I'll say. This installment resolves some questions and opens up still more. Irene is still the tough, clever heroine we've come to know and love in the first two books, The Invisible Library and The Masked City. When may we expect Book Four?
