Absolute classic. I would highly recommend this book. I liked it but didn't love it.

I’ve always heard good things about this book, but unfortunately I didn’t like it. For it being such a short book, I didn’t expect over 50% of the book to be boring and slow. The most exciting thing happened towards the end of the book, but there wasn’t any real build to it.

All in all, I’ll probably never pick this book up again. It just wasn’t worth it for me. However, if you did enjoy it, that’s amazing. We are all allowed to have our own opinions and they don’t have to match everyone else’s. I wouldn’t personally recommend this book, unless you’re looking for short classic books to read. Maybe you’d like it, maybe not.

Novelita corta, parte lenta, como sin saber para dnde va la cosa y terminando el primer tercio agarra vuelo y no te suelta ms. Intensa y pesimista, mostrando el abismo social, arribismo y fragilidad de los sueos que cremos haber alcanzado

seductively enchanting, a breathtaking story of wonder, people, love and jazz.

I’m one of those people that did not have this book assigned in high school, so reading this as an adult (who also already saw the movie and loved it) is a bit different than most people probably. The characters are horrible people of course, and the story is all about how rich, frivolous and careless they all are. Of course you wish the right people would see justice for the events that occur but they don’t, they just keep living their horrible lives (most of them). But I loved the imagery in the writing and how quickly the story moves along. I felt like I was there at the wild parties and with the people living in the drama. It’s a fairly short book with a lot of details and events packed in, but doesn’t feel rushed. Now I want to go watch the movie again!
