This wasn't a bad thriller, I'd probably give it more like 3.5 stars...but nothing groundbreaking or overly memorable here.

Characters were kind of meh and plot was predictable, but the second half was a decent page turner.

A little less exciting than I would have hoped but a well written mystery novel by Lisa Jewell. I do like how twisted her characters can be, and this one felt more tame to me. I like her genre of emotional/psychological mystery’s.

I listened to The Night She Disappeared on audio and was so invested the entire way through. Lisa Jewell did a fantastic job keeping my attention and by the end of this novel I was desperate for what actually happened. I did find that I was let down by the ending though. I was thinking it was going to go a completely different direction and was thrown off when it didn't.

Overall, this was an okay thriller with great character development.

Thank you Random House UK and NetGalley for my e-arc of this book, received in exchange for an honest review.

A note in a garden instructing its reader to "dig here" reopens the cold case of 19 year old Tallulah's disappearence two years prior.

Overall, this was an enjoyable if slightly predictable thriller.
Despite a variety of POVs and back and forth between past and present, the story was kept moving along at an enjoyable pace. It felt very rooted in the mundane and everyday life which made the mystery and the unkown that bit more eerie as it felt tangible. It felt as though these very events could be happening around you.
Interestingly for a mystery thriller, I felt as though the narrative didn't offer up too many theories> We were kept relatively in the dark but the narrative still managed to hold my interest.
I have found Jewell's writing style to be quite contemplative and introspective at times-we tend to get a lot of personal self-analysis from the characters-which might not work in the favour of every story, but I found to be effective here as the characters examine their role in the events and the consequences of their actions or inactions.

3.5 stars rounded to 4 as this was a fast and enjoyable read for lovers of the mystery genre.
