I love Selena and growing up she was always a huge role model for me but I feel like this book showed me more of Selena than I’ve ever known. Reading chris’ and Selena’s love story showed us a part of Selena we didn’t get to see. Chris shared with us the Selena he saw everyday, giving us fans another piece of her to love. It did get emotional reading especially near the end. This truly shows the love they have for each other and how important they were to each other.

When I first heard of Selena, it was through the film adaptation about her life. It still shocks me that she had to die so young, but I think her voice will continue to inspire people around the world. I was 2 years old when she passed away. I love the fact that Chris wrote this book. It just shows me the true person Selena was. She was a good girl that had a famous career. She showed the world one side to herself that was sexy, while behind the scenes, the true special human being she was came through. I love Selena's music. Even though, I'm not spanish, I love the meaning and how she was able to convey her messages through her voice.

I think what made me love this book was the deep roots of the Quintanilla family. I love Selena. I wish she did not have to die the way she did, and I hope her music inspires the world. I was heart broken when he talked about her and who she was. She sounded like a truly honest, kind-hearted woman of that time. The movie really followed all the points that she shared with the fans in this book. Overall, an emotional read.

I cried countless times throughout this book, Selena made such an impact and was such a light in everyone's life. After watching the movie and the new TV show I came to the conclusion they will never be as good as the book, Chris dives into their life with such detail, it's truly beautifully written.

This was such a beautiful tribute to Selena. Chris shares the story of meeting Selena, falling in love, living with her as husband and wife, her various successes and the aftermath of her death all while honoring Selena's true personality and character.

Towards the end I started to get a bit emotional because you come to understand just how much Selena meant to him, who she was as a person, and how tragic it was to lose her so young. He doesn't sugarcoat and really presented Selena as a normal person, with flaws and a big heart. She touched so many. I loved getting to know her through his eyes.

Being a fan of her at a young age I was aware of what had happened, her talent and her music, which I played so much when I was in my teens. And of course there was the popular movie with Jennifer Lopez. But through this memoir I felt like I truly got to know Selena and therefore I felt her loss more deeply.

She was only here for a short while, but she made such an impact on the Latinx community and worldwide. I'm grateful this memoir exists so that more people can get to know Selena for who she really was, and her legacy can continue to live on.
