This was interesting to read as it tackles on the way women are perceived during 70s to 90s, the incompetency of the police force, and how the media portrays serial killers in a sensational way which in turn can be used as an advantage for the police force to create the narrative that they are so methodical in their ways that it's hard to track them when in actuality, they just can't do their job right.

Loved the message behind it but at times, it was hard to keep up with the stories since it's an alternating views. I recommend reading this when you have a lot of free time to really immerse yourself to the story since that wasn't the case for me.

This is not a fun book. It took me significantly longer than usual to finish it because I never looked forward to reading it. And yet I think it may be among the best books I'll read this year. I was consistently angry while reading, but as Tina explained to her patient at the conference, sometimes anger is justified. Misogyny and bigotry cost us so much, and my heart broke over and over for Tina, Ruth, Rebecca, Pamela, and all the sorority sisters. Such a well written and important story.

it started off really slow but when it picked up it picked up FAST. for about the first third of the book i was having a really hard time liking the main character, but her she became MUCH more tolerable as the book went on in my opinion. the author's style of writing made for some really amazing metaphors and imagery most of the time, but there were points i needed to reread several times because the metaphors got a bit lost.

I liked the feminist approach of this book in regards to how male serial killers are often portrayed in the media. This book was a good page turner that kept the reader on their toes. I enjoyed this fresh perspective.
