The writing is just too very clearly first published work for me to finish. I really applaud the writers for taking that’s step and the authors for giving a platform to these stories with many interesting concepts but the executions are too unskilled for me to keep going

It's hard to rate an anthology but I loved the premise of this collection: speculative fiction from social justice movements. My enjoyment of each story varied but there were some real standouts (I liked LeVar Burton's in particular).

I love this book. it brought together two worlds for me: nerd-dom and social justice. the authors of these stories imagined worlds built on similar structures we built our world today and dreamed of new concepts and ideas for how to keep fighting and resisting power. ias. self proclaimed nerd and sjw, this book was so powerful. only reason for 4 stars is because there were a few stories I had to skip through because they were hard to get into, but the concept of the book was wonderful and I was sad it had come to an end. I didn't know Octavia Butler's name before this, but I will definitely have to check her out
