This book started where “Well of Magic” finished. I had an exceedingly difficult time finishing this book. I found it confusing and a lot of the scenes were not necessary, while others need more explanation. There was more than one action scene just to show how much of a badass Erin is. It felt as though BRK had a bigger plan for the series and it just did not happen to pan out. I liked the series and enjoy BRK work, however giving this more than 2 stars is just not something I can do.

It's a good well written book, however it's not a very satisfying ending to the series. The series as a whole feels like more of a serial than a series, each with its own big bad to defeat rather than an overarching plot.

The characters are interesting, however alot of the relationships seem a bit shallow and I wish they had been explored further.

There were some pacing issues in places it's very fast in others it drags a bit.

The ending seemed quite rushed.

However despite my criticism, I did enjoy the book, and the series and I would recommend giving it a shot.

I liked the story, but not as much as the rest of the series. There seemed to be an end of the world feel with Erin as the willing sacrifice to make sure it doesn't happen. At times the book felt slow, then other times is moved so fast I felt it was missing something. The character connection didn't feel as strong. The ending confused me a little. It wasn't a bad ending, but the way it played out just didn't feel quite right. I would still recommend you read the story to finish the series as it does bring closure to many parts of the story.

Ending to the series. I feel like this was a pretty good series with some cool moments, but it went off the rails with book 4. Every book needed a bigger, harder bad guy that the previous one, until there was hardly anywhere to go. Plus the way Erin just casually kills people and it never affects her. IDK, I think I'm done with this author.

Seemed to drag a little more than the earlier books in the series. I enjoyed the going undercover in the Knights at first but again that seemed to drag a bit. Also the stakes never seemed particularly high. Everything seemed to run a little too smoothly so there was never any doubt the good guys would prevail and everything just fell magically into place.

Fantastic ending to the series. I love how it wrapped up. Although honestly, prior to the epilogue, I was almost 180 degrees from this feeling. I was prepared to come here raging about the ending, but I should have known better, as the author really did right by the characters. So happy I found this author and series. Now on to the next!
