An excellent book to chew through. In typical Pargin fashion, he articulates the profound from the mundane, or humour from the horrific. This focus is applied to the technoscape of the 21st Century, leveraging collective behaviour, the attention econony, and all the technologies that facilitate the best and worst elements of it to explore ethics in modern society.
Zoey acts as an anchor point, refusing to concede to the shady rhythms of this world. Her conversations with other characters becomes a vehicle for Socratic dialogue where real scenarios enabled by real technologies can be explored without seeming too real-world depressive.
I have not read the previous Zoey instalments, but love Jason's JDATE series, his Tiktoks and Bigfeets podcast.
This book feels complementary to work by Cory Doctorow.

The beginning was a little slow so took some time to get really interested in the story. But once the author covers all the bases and gets into the good stuff it kept me interested. I won this book through the Goodreads Giveaways and am glad I did because otherwise I would never have given this book a try. #Goodreadsgiveaway Thank You for the free copy!
