I enjoy how the characters grow throughout the book. I also enjoy how the whole book turns on it's head around three quarters of the way through. The plot twist is amazing.

4.5 instead of 4. Goodreads need to add more stars so that there can be a 4.5 category!
I really liked this story! Adventure, action, and the federal government make a great story! This is my 2nd Alan Gratz book and I really like his style!

This is an easy 10/10. The suspenseful, thriller, action packed plot makes this book a masterpiece. I was turning the pages super fast with this book.

Kamran Smith is a popular high school football player, the homecoming king, and an American. An American who happens to have a Persian mother and an American father.
Kamran started working towards his plan of attending West Point and becoming a soldier for the United States Army before he started high school. He's not an over-achiever, just inspired by his older brother, who has already graduated from West Point and is currently serving overseas.
This opening of the book is amazing! I don't see how it could fail to capture the attention of young readers. Admittedly, the readers would have to be familiar with the United States' relationship with the Middle East in modern history.
The story is a mystery, an adventure, and a bit of realistic fiction. Some parts of it seemed a bit far-fetched for me as an adult, but I imagine most middle-school and teen readers would be able to roll with it without questions. I can't wait to host a book club with this book.
I don't know if the story is about prejudice and the dangers of stereo-typing or loyalty or being true to your own codes.
My favorite quote from this book is "If you really do have a code, you hang on to it. You lock it up tight, deep inside, and you live by it. 'Cause in the end, it's all you're really ever going to have."

Loved it, very exciting plot, couldn't tell who the traitor was until the end. Sweet male leads, especially Mickey the Irish CIA agent who Liked how the near escapes were explained by good guys planning secretive behind the scenes stuff instead of just being good luck.
