Uh, yeah, I freaking LOVE the Mystwick books!! This sequel did NOT disappoint. There were so many interweaving plot lines but they all made sense and played wonderfully off one another. I loved seeing Amelia interact with Jai (of course!) and Darby (who is actually a softy!) as their friendships developed. I thought the mystery of the Midnight Orchestra, the return of "the real Amelia", and the themes of belonging, self worth, grief, and anger created a story that was both playful and suspenseful. If there is another book in this series (or another two, or three, or ten!) I will 100% be picking them up!!

Also have to mention that I laughed out loud at several parts, and I don't laugh very often at books!

i loved it! pretty amazing reveals and more in depth about Amelia's emotional turmoil, loved the whole composing lessons and her found family. i love the audiobook experience the most, don't think it's as fun if I just simply read it, without all the music which made me feel like I'm there or watching a movie, gorgeous! also am just in awe from the magic system, I just love how unique it is!

We enjoyed the first book of this series and were excited to see what was next for Amelia Jones. it is just as intriguing as the first. It’s a little on the creepier side but just enough, not too much for even this sensitive reader. Deals with some deep feelings and trauma. I found myself tearing up more than once. I like the whole musical magic aspect as I haven’t read another book with a similar type of magic in it. I love how being a composer is so different and the teacher that comes along to teach her has such different methods to help her compose. Good twists and turns that kept you guessing. Excited to see what’s next for Amelia!

I love this book so much!! This is everything I want in a middle grade and everything I hope to write in my own MG novels-- great voice, tons of heart, lots of tension, excitement, friend and family drama, and twists I didn't see coming. I need more Mystwick books stat!
