Loved this book! I heard it was a must read and I wasn't disappointed. I was already familiar with some great quotes from the book and finding those in the text felt like rediscovering something dear and precious.

It's a light read with a lot of great jokes. Word of caution: you end up laughing out a lot and having to explain to people around you what's so funny. But there's also deeper stuff here, Adams manages to keep it hilarious but also hits the nail.

Definitely recommend this one to everybody, doesn't matter if you like sci-fi or not. Read it!

As good as one would expect. Listened to the Stephen Fry narrated audiobook version.

Like an old movie, I’m sure this book was great in its day. Alas..just didn’t do much for me. It’s an easy read— very Monty Python in its odd lingo.

Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy was absolutely wild from start to finish. How the book begins, ends, and the great reveal toward the end are all just so ridiculous, but in the best way possible. The character further enhance the experience of this book since they are so silly and play into the ludicrous plot this book lays out. If you are looking for a deep, long space epic packed with danger, suspense, and metaphors, this is NOT the book for you. Rather, this is a mini space epic that is such a funny, silly, and at times stupid(in the best way possible) read. You won't know what to expect at any points in this book, and I absolutely loved it.

Still some good laughs to be had - but nowhere near as many as when I first read this as a teenager.

If the disappearance of ballpoint pens was enough to make Veet Voojagig insane, one has to wonder what missing socks would do to him.
I guess I can see the appeal, but it wasn’t really my thing. I suppose I like my irreverent comedy with fantasy more than sci-fi, like Good Omens.
