What a true emotional rollercoaster.
I think that the graphic novel format of this book helps turn this into something that younger people can read and understand. It should be read by people of all ages. We are shown very little about Iran other than the connection with fundamentalist fantlaticism and terrorism. It's what the media does. It shows you the bad things. This book is so enlightening that I feel enriched with new knowledge that should be known by all.
When what happened to Anoosh happened? I wanted to cry.
The things women were told so that they'd west a veil? I wanted to cry.
I admit that I giggled at the part where Marjane goes to hang out with 'anarchists', only to turn up and see them playing hide and seek and capture the flag!😂
Truly brilliant book that I recommend strongly.

Book #1 is much stronger than Book #2, but both are equally important in sharing the author’s life story. #2 is much slower than #1 pace-wise, and feels much less eventful.
