Much better then the first one. I don't know why I liked this one so much but I did. I love how I was expecting Faye to come back to their side but I was still surprised when she did

For some reason I was dreading this book a little. That's mostly because I had formed such a strong connection with the main character in this series and she was currently being blackmailed and abused and I was so NOT looking forward to everything crashing down. However, I also really really wanted to know what was gonna happen, so yesterday I braved my fears and grabbed the book to stare that fear in the face and start reading.

And once more I enjoyed the book from start to finish. Within three pages I felt that connection again and had trouble putting the book away. The story is action-packed, mysterious, sometimes even a little scary and most of all the perfect kind of YA with just enough romance and high school drama to balance the supernatural drama out. It's really a bunch of teens playing around with stuff they don't understand while dealing with hormones and emotions.

I'm really impressed with Smith's writing skills. I already loved her the Vampire Diaries books (especially the books that were truly hers), but for some reason I think I liked this series even more. She knows how to build up a story, how to build tension, how to make sure readers understand how dangerous everything is. She releases information at the right moment and in the right amounts and I love how she can truly connect everything masterfully!

And once more I really really really fell in love with these characters. All these characters. They all have their own personalities, their own way of handling things. They all had their own issues and problems and home situation. It's a lot of characters, twelve, and yet it felt like all of them are my friends right now. I absolutely loved this first trilogy and I really can't wait to dive into the second trilogy and I'm incredibly glad I already own them!

binged this series over the past weekend and still love it as much as I did when I was fifteen. This time around, I thought Cassie and Adam’s love story is major cringe but thankfully, the story doesn’t focus too much on that.

OK, this one kicked it up a notch. I'm going to call the first book an introduction. This one was much more of a page-turner.
