Yeah this was fine! I am extremely confused by the ending. Like. I do not know what is going on in the last 15 pages. So. That was weird. I know it's a retelling but still I could've used like a little more of an explanation regarding what happened. The characters were cool ish, and I liked the magic system. The banter was entertaining too. The plot just got a bit muddled at the end though like I just got lost.

4.5, round up
I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. I love that almost every time I thought it was going to fall into some PNR trope it subverted it. Here's an example (I'm paraphrasing), during the only (mild) sex scene Bran trotted out the common "say 'no' now, I won't stop after this." I hate when heroes do this and you hear it all the time in PNR, like the hero he isn't saying "I'll just go ahead and rape you if you try and stop me past this point" and the reader is supposed to feel it's something else, romantic even. I groaned when he said it and then cheered when her response was, "I don't want you to stop, but if you think I couldn't stop you if I wanted to, you don't know me well."
That's Aisling in a nutshell, never afraid to call someone out, never making herself smaller, never dulling her shine for someone else, but also never falling into harridan or shrew. I so much appreciated that both she and Bran were as honest with each other as they could be, never faulted the other for what was out of their control, and Hamm never took the easy 'misunderstanding' or 'angry over secrets' plotting path.
I look forward to reading more of this series, maybe going back and starting at the beginning. And if I can get the audio, even better, because Siobhan Waring did a marvelous job.

I did not enjoy this book as much as the previous one but the characters are very loveable and their banter makes up for it. I think it lacked in romance and the ending was very confusing.

The Faceless Woman Starts with the fierce and sassy Aisling being accused of witchcraft and tied to a tree to burn for her wickedness....enter handsome Unseelie Prince, Bran. In an attempt to save herself from the flames she curses him, binding his life to hers, thus forcing Bran to save her or burn with her. He of course chooses to save her and heal her IF she removes the curse...there's only one problem, she doesn't know how. Now they must travel across the Otherworld on a quest to break the curse!
Emma Hamm has done it again! I'm in love with this book and it is my favorite story yet! Oh yeah, and lets not forget another breathtaking cover <3
I am so digging the darker atmosphere and digging deeper into the Unseelie (my favorite) realm and the Sluagh were brought into this story too! Needless to say the world building was beautiful as always and painted a clear picture of the world on every page.
I freaking LOVE Aisling! She just felt so real to me...she was fierce, brave, headstrong, and sassy...yet she had hidden insecurities that just made her more relate-able. Then there is Bran and how can you not love him as well! He's just as sassy and fierce as Aisling! They are my favorite couple so far *Swoony eyes*. Lorcan was another great character and I really hope to learn more about him in the future. Even the side characters were awesome, good and bad alike.
I just really cannot put into words how much my whimsical dark little heart loved this tale!! If you haven't read any of the Otherworld books yet then you seriously need to start. Especially if you love Fairy Tale re-tellings, Romance, and Celtic Folklore about the Fae.
I give The Faceless Woman 5 Stars and a place on my favorite books shelf!

4,5 stars. Witches? Check. Unseelies? Check. Sassy main characters? Check. Did I highlight 33 things in this book? Check.
I loved this book so much!! All the magic and witchcraft and curses and secrets and aaaah. It's been 3 days since I finished reading it and I am already looking forward to a re-read lol! Emma Hamm's writing is magnificent as always, I was dragged head-first into this story and it did not let me go until the last page. The world-building in this book was awesome, we finally got to see more of the Unseelie lands, and parts of the Fae world that we had not yet seen. The main character, Aisling, is wonderfully complex. She is strong, sassy and fierce and I loved her so much. This might be my favorite part of "The Otherworld" series so far! Now excuse me as I dive into book 5, to see where this story takes me.
