This book kept me up reading way past my bedtime! It definitely had a creepy, twisted element to it, but it didn’t feel too dark or heavy. I really appreciated that fact. I love creepy books, but I hate when they leave me feeling uneasy for too long after finishing.

The villain in this book is beyond messed up and I loved the insight into how his mind works and also the Stockholm Syndrome that happened to some of the kids in his care. It was super interesting.

It was apparent that the author did her research before writing the book. There was so much information about how spies work. I’m so intrigued by all of it!

I did feel like things got a little jumbled in the middle. I think things just got a bit rushed for a bit, but then it got back on track. Also, there were one or two things set-up to add tension that never went anywhere. I kept waiting for them to come back into play, but they never did.

Overall, this was a good story. It kept my attention all the way through, had me guessing and second guessing my opinions on what would happen next, and made me want to be a spy. Cindy Hogan did a great job and I can’t wait to read the next Christy book!

I received the book for a honest review and as a part of the tour! Thank you!:) Original post on http://nervidetoamna.blogspot.ro/

This book... when I first heard of it and I read the synopsis my mind instantly thought "it sounds original and look at that cover!", so I wanted to read it so bad. I was so happy when I put my hands on it. I was expecting a book full of suspense, action, strong characters, with a mind blowing final, and I received it. It happens so many things in this book that I don't know where to start :)) Maybe I just say that from the first page to the last I was glued to the story and I couldn't stop reading it.

I don't want to speak too much because I don't want to spoil any detail, but this book surprised me so much. The whole thing, the idea, how everything build and the characters formed such an amazing read. I think is one of that books that is original and make me symapthise so much with the characters. I was so afraid that Christy would get hurt or something and I really wanted to kick some bad guys. I mean that guy, S., is so crazy and his ideas... And who thought that him and D. are.... but no, no, no, no spoilers...

I have the feeling that I read a whole series and not a book, there were so many things and crazy twists that even now I analyze them. From the beggining until the end this book is a adventure and it have so much suspense that it will blow your mind. It's a good book, there are no boring moments, everyone has a secret, everytime something is happening and Christy is having such a hard time trying to solve the whole thing.

Would she succed? Whould she end alive and save all the kids? Well, you'll find out reading this book and I'm sure you'll enjoy it and you'll befriend with all the characters, even they are crazy or normal. Because every character is so real and I think the story wouldn't have been the same without one of them. So, read this book and enjoy an action pact read, full of suspense, twists, friendships, betrayal, complex characters, sprinkled with craziness.

Wow! I just finished this book and it's still on my mind and I'm still in shock! Bravo Ms. Hogan for such an awesome, pulse pounding read! This is the second book in the Christy series but I read it because it precedes Hotwire which I plan to read and post about for Cindy Hogan's upcoming blog tour.

There is a lot of suspense and mystery in this book and the amount of situations our heroine Christy gets into has you wondering how she will get out. The blurb description of the mad man is no joke. The villain Sterling lives up to his name as he kidnaps teens and brainwashes them to carry out his twisted deeds of justice to whomever he believes has violated his believe of " A world without smut. A world without indecision. A world without lawlessness. A world without greed.” He truly believes his convictions and will go through any length to carry them out. Christy is careful but makes a few mistakes as she goes undercover to infiltrate a few thrill seeking high school clique groups that love doing death defying stunts to chase danger and dodge death. She nearly falls for one and all through the book I couldn't wait to see how he will take knowing the truth about her when it comes out.

Although the book is indeed clean in the sense of no language and sex, there are a few cringe worthy scenes of violence involving the villain which adds to the visceral nature of his actions. Mature young readers would be able to take this but parents may want to give this a reader for younger suspense fans. You guys won't be disappointed! Adrenaline Rush is definitely has it all! I don't want to give too much away because the beauty of this book is not knowing much about it going in. Very little of it is predictable and each moment always has something going on. I was bummed whenever I had to put it down because I was always wondering how Christy is going to get out of her situation. Awesome job, Miss Hogan! Once I detach from this story, I'm going to hop right into Hotwire. First, I need a mental break from the rush!

{ I received an e - book copy of this book in exchange for an honest review }

I really really really enjoyed this book. A lot more than I thought I would. At first, I read the blurb and I was like "hmm that sounds interesting" and then I started reading and I was like "okay, this is cool". Then I got to the actual kidnapping part and honestly, at that point, I couldn't put it down. However, I did debate it at certain scenes that were a bit too graphic for my taste, but they worked with the story and I literally could not physically put this book down.

The blurb promises that "You won't want to put it down." The blurb was right. I'm the kind of person who, when reading a really great book I need to finish it before falling asleep, especially if it's as suspenseful as Adrenaline Rush and this book was no different. I needed to find out what happened and this book kept me interested from the very first page until the very last page. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense novels at all.
One of my favorite things about this book is that out of 31 chapters, more than half were dedicated to the kidnapping, their environment, and what goes on in the place. Many books similar drag out the before hand and don't explore the actual incident as much as it should.

Every line left the reader with an image. This book was so well written that from the very first line of the book ; "As I hurtled toward my destination at 500 miles an hour, I pulled out a notebook, placed it on the shiny mahogany table in front of me and scribbled a quick to - do list." to the very last line, I was picturing everything in my head like a movie playing out as I read the book. {I read this in a span of about three hours, give or take a little bit}.

Right after I finished this book, I went to my kindle store, bought the entire Watched trilogy as well as the next book in this series, Hotwire, and then proceeded to tell my dad about this book in the morning.

I received a free copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first Christy novel, so I don't know how you would experience this book if you have read the Watched series, but for a newbie it started out as a great deal of fun! A teenage spy infiltrating a group of adrenaline junkies in order to be kidnapped? Count me in!

This book takes a love triangle to a whole new level. It's not so much a triangle as it is a circle with Christy in the middle, surrounded by all the hot boys that smile at her (damn you teenage hormones!). But you know what? The girl inside of me loved it, despite all the eye rolling and awkwardness and 'no - not again, no triangle!' - feelings. It's my guilty pleasure. There, I've said it.

Back to the story: it is a fast paced, fun read with action and romance, and Christy (or her alias Misha) is, most times, a smart and likable character. Up to 3/4 of the book I would have given it a solid 4.0 stars rating. Then it got a bit preachy, and it's made obvious that Christy is a believer. If the author just had stuck with the occasional morning prayer, it really wouldn't be a problem. But from that moment on, Hogan took every opportunity to slap the reader in the face with one prayer or conversation about God after the other. I'll give you one example:
"I prayed for (...). That she would have strength and that extra angels would be send to watch over her and bless her."
Really? Come on. I don't want to give away spoilers, but in the context of the story, I found it ridiculous. It really took away some of the pleasure I experienced before.

The narration of the audiobook however, was a pure delight to listen to. Laci Morgan really did a superb job. If you were planning on reading this, I would highly recommend you to try the audiobook. You won't be disappointed.

First off, I did it again. Sort of. As I started into the book, I realized right away that it was reading like a sequel. ARGH! Not again! I have a bad habit of accidentally picking up the second book in a series. Now I find out, I have the fourth!?! Not really. Adrenaline Rush, while not directly part of a series, is still a sequel to a trilogy. Lucky for me, I found it wasn’t required to have read the other books first. I followed the plot with zero difficulty, but there are a certain amount of spoilers. If you plan on reading the other books at all, then I would recommend doing it first. I’ll wait a while before diving into them, in the hopes that I will forget the spoilers. :P

So there I was, moving along with the story, when all of a sudden I hit 33%. Then all of a sudden, the plot took a turn into the world of WTF?! It went from being a fairly typical suspense, to peculiar, bizarre, and utterly fascinating! I couldn’t put it down once I reached that pivotal turning point! I refuse to say anything else to spoil it, but you won’t have a chance to guess what’s about to happen.

Connecting with the characters was tough. Maybe it was assumed that I would already be attached to Christy from the first books? Anyway, while I would normally get to know a character by how they interact with others, there wasn’t much dialogue, so I had to observe their actions instead. There is a lot of guessing and second guessing about everyone’s motives, which is perfect for a suspense novel! Hogan had me guessing right up until the end. I couldn’t see how everything could possibly wrap up in time, and I mentally prepared myself for the mother of all cliffhangers.

I was on the fence as to whether or not I should put an age warning on this book. There is a large amount of violence, but after all is said and done, it isn’t overly graphic. Sexuality plays only a very minor role. As a parent, I wouldn’t have a problem with my teens reading this. Mom Approved!

There were a couple niggly things, like plot gaps and discrepancies, that bothered me but only a little. For example, the cover. Not for one second of the story does Christy/Misha look like that. As long as the little details don’t bother you, you will be thrilled with this book. In fact, I suffered a severe case of book hangover after this one!

A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
