Move over, boys of TikTok, girls think about the Roman Empire too. Absolutely no one writes about Ancient Rome the way that Mary Beard does - she can draw in even the most historically-reluctant readers. If you’re looking for a chronological run through of the Roman emperors one-by-one, you won’t find that here. Instead, Beard divided the book up by aspects of the Emperor’s life and went into great detail about what daily life was actually like for Ancient Rome’s BMOC. This is a great read for history lovers, but also really anyone could find something to love here.
