Initially, I really, truly hated this book. I was ready to actually DNF, but I'm glad I pushed through and read all of it!

What's annoying is that Cecilia apparently hates quotation marks and question marks? Which are, in my honest opinion, very necessary to make a book readable. It took me way longer than necessary to read this, just because these were missing. I don't know why writers decide to leave this out, but it's a horrible decision, especially in a story that moves along this slowly.

I didn't like Allegra and it took me forever to get to the halfway point where the story actually started to get interesting. I didn't like any of the characters. I didn't care for the casual mention of self harm, eating disorders, and the blatant fatphobia in the first half. Why the hell did Allegra talk about her supposed friend Marion's thighs like that? Completely fucking unnecessary.

The only characters that seemed to have some depth were Spanner and Tristan, whom I both loved! They're the characters that pulled me through to the end and I'm glad I did, because eventually the message of this book was lovely and inspiring! I love that this wasn't a romantic love story, but more of a story about found family and people not always being what you expect them and want them to be!
