Read me!

You guys! What a great story. I can't tell you all the things I love because it would give too much plot away, and that would be a bummer. But I can say April is such an awesome, strong heroine. And Jordan is a great alpha mixed with a soft side. And if you've read the Walsh series, you're going to get some Will and Shannon action.

This is a great mix of romance and suspense. I liked Jordan and April and really enjoyed their story.

lighthearted mysterious fast-paced
This romance has a light mystery subplot. I enjoyed this immensely, despite it being single POV, from MMC perspective. Characters are in late thirties.

I'd say it's generally a 3-star-read but I really didn't see the plot twist coming so 4 stars it is.

Cute

Story was good. A nice quick read. I wish it was more of a his and her telling and not all his. I would have liked to get into her head a bit.

A novella length audio book is sometimes the perfect thing for the work commute, and this one was super fun. I've been bingeing the heck out of Kate Canterbary, and I think I've finally come to the end of the Walshes.

Here we meet Jordan Kaisall, Will Halsted's business partner, former SEAL, and all around bad-ass. He's on vacation with Will and Shannon (so adorable to see them) in Montauk after finding his casual girl friend blowing his business competitor in his apartment, something that means his competitor was able to bug his entire house.

When Jordan wipes out on his surfboard, he is assisted by a beautiful woman named April. I'm imagining a Little Mermaid style meet cute here. Swoon.

Kaisall has a really bad leg, full of pins, steel, and pain, which acupuncturist and woman of many other skills April offers to help with. The lust is real here friends, and this once stoic man falls head over heels.

But April maybe isn't all she seems to be...

I wasn't quite expecting the turn this story took, and I loved it! I'm hoping to see more of these characters someday. This solo male narrator wasn't as good for me as the one who did the Walsh books and I missed having the dual POV, but still a great listen!

This is a short book, a novella if you will.

This narrator is a no for me. I would probably have liked it more if I had e-booked it instead of audio-booked it.

It was only from the guy's POV, which came across very stalker-y at times. Because he was INSTANTLY taken with her and kept wanting to see her and kept seeking her out and you had NO IDEA how she was feeling. So insta-love + guy POV, didn't make a great reading combo.

My only gripe is that this wasn't 1000 pages longer. LOVE Jordan so much!
