a fun little story I read in a bus journey. I love the Victorian tendency toward talking to the reader so casually!

3.5 stars. Spooky, but the ending was a letdown.

Deliciously creepy in the classic style of turn of the century tales. The lack of modern flourishes make these stories feel so very real and you find yourself looking closely at paintings for days after.

A print curator gets a deal on a mezzotint, the dealer says it's worth two guineas, when the curator takes it for inspection, strange things happen, seems the paint is giving them clues of a tragedy that happened long ago. The material was good but no spooky mood
