“Ten little Soldier boys went out to dine;
One choked his little self and then there were nine.
Nine little Soldier boys sat up very late;
One overslept himself and then there were eight.
Eight little Soldier boys traveling in Devon;
One said he’d stay there and then there were seven.
Seven little Soldier boys chopping up sticks;
One chopped himself in halves and then there were six.
Six little Soldier boys playing with a hive;
A bumblebee stung one and then there were five.
Five little Soldier boys going in for law;
One got into Chancery and then there were four.
Four little Soldier boys going out to sea;
A red herring swallowed one and then there were three.
Three little Soldier boys walking in the zoo;
A big bear hugged one and then there were two.
Two little Soldier boys playing with a gun;
One shot the other and then there was One.
One little Soldier boy left all alone;
He went out and hanged himself and then there were none.”

Now I understand why Christie is the Queen of Crime and Mystery. I do not know if this were the newer storylines about random people coming together and suddenly dying comes from but if it is, it makes completely sense to me. This plot is classic and I love that authors in recent years are implementing it. I was listening to the audiobook and following it with the book and it made it so much faster and, at least for this particular book, I loved the narrator’s voice. It was read by Dan Stevens. He made great voices for the character and to me, it was really fun my first experience of Christie. I cannot wait to read her other classics. ✨

What a fantastic mystery. In the first few chapters i found it hard to get involved with & had to restart it two or three times, but once the plot had formed I was so immersed. It definitely is a book that has you wanting to finish it in one sitting.

In the beginning of the book, it was going very well. The story was progressing and it truly felt like a thriller, a good one at that. But by the time I reached the end and the resolution to the case was uncovered, my exact words were “what is this shit”. Honestly, I NEVER imagined that such a praised book by such a famous author could end in such a stupidly atrocious way. The explanation to the crimes in the book was terrible. When I read who the final culprit was, I couldn’t believe it simply because of how little sense it made. I added half a star to the rating for the way Agatha Christie wrote the book. It was ominous and intriguing, though the end blew it for me completely.

Absolutely Brilliant! Just brilliant!

My theory was completely wrong, but I'm man enough to admit it haha!

This is my first Agatha Christie book - it won't be the last - for sure!

I've read some really disappointing books recently, one being "Into The Water" where the narrative was completely over complicated by too many points of view! But this novel has 10 character with 10 points of view, I instantly profiled each character and had separated them straight away, which is a clear sign of great writing!

You must read this book if you love a good murder mystery or thriller! I flew through it in a few days - complete page turner classic!
