This is for my niece. She loved this book. And actually, it was a decent story about the true meaning of Christmas. It's about joy, love and being together.

It's actually a powerful metaphor for Christmas now days. The greedy shopkeeper encourages people to spend lots of money on Christmas until they forget the true meaning of the day itself. It is up to Elena to remind the people the true value. I enjoy Christmas and I get so tired of the commercialism. This book was a breath of fresh air.

These are Disney artist, the art art is beautiful. Anyone into princesses will enjoy it.

I'm adult and I don't regret buying nor reading this. However do mind that I'm appreciating the book for different reasons than a parent or a small child would. My favorite character looks tipsy right in the first picture and I can't get over the fact he had to get a bit drunk to make the Christmas with his family more bearable for him. :D

If you are a parent looking for children literature then this is ok. You can't actually SEE what's in the glass so a child won't see a drunken person but just someone who smiles. Hey, christmas is about having fun after all.

Elena - a princess but definitely not a spoiled one - teaches her subjects that the christmas spirit is about being with loved ones and being kind etc. and it's not about how many gifts you get or how fancy your party is.
