This was a seriously good mystery/thriller. It was suspenseful throughout and kept me engaged from beginning to end. It definitely has elements of a gothic horror novel, so it’s perfect for fall and winter. I picked it up because of the title (I lived in RI for over 5 years), and stayed for the dual timeline and family drama elements. The only thing preventing me from giving it a perfect 5 stars is the ending - it was pretty obvious to even this novice thriller reader. That being said, a fabulous mystery from this debut author and I look forward to her other books.
