I read mixed reviews about this one because people kept saying that it was dark and so different from CCJ's other books, but I really enjoyed the story.

Asha and King's tumultuous tale of forbidden attraction and high-stakes games of chance will captivate readers who crave a fast-paced, emotional romance with a strong focus on the Strangers to Lovers trope, making this a perfect fit for fans of intense, passionate love stories.

Wasn’t expecting a lot from this one so I was pleasantly surprised. I do enjoy an all black cast. It was appropriately spicy but I did find some of the character’s decisions/motivations taxing.
Was not the best example of “let me try not to want you”.
Overall, I liked the main character though. Ending did feel a little cop out.
