I had really high hopes for "Butcher and Blackbird" and the FOMO was real. It took me a bit to get into the book, but by the time they were in the first part of the game, the story really picked up.
However, the sex scenes were too much for me. It felt like the author added excessive details just to fill pages and increase the character count. I didn't think these scenes added to the story; instead, they took away from it.
That said, I did get really into the story close to the end. I was on the edge of my seat and eager to read the next book quickly. But when the book ended, I found myself feeling indifferent about starting the next one. I might pick up book two later on, but overall, I just didn't love this book.

Honestly pretty fun.  There were some things I wasn't a huge fan of but it was silly and campy in a good way, amidst all the blood and gore.

  When two serial killers who kill evil people meet and fall in love, things get...messy.
   Well, thank f*ck for the content warnings at the beginning, though to be honest, they partly got me to read this book as I was intrigued. This was my first dark romance, and it was a ride! I liked this book's mix of funny and disturbing, which probably says something about me.
    The writing was a bit too descriptive at certain points for my ability to visualize things vividly, so be warned if you can also create very vivid pictures in your mind while you listen!
  Overall it was enjoyable if a bit graphic and I mostly liked the main characters! I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

 Narrator Rating- 5 stars
     Both narrators did an excellent job! You could tell they put production money into the audiobook!

As I have never before read a book from this genre (dark rom-com) I can not judge it within the genre but I can say that this book made me interested in exploring the genre more.

A sometimes blushing man who fell first and harder that not only tells you that he would kill for you but actually does kill for you...sign me up.

And her being a shy, smart and really talented serial killer too...I love it.
I really liked her as the fMC and how the gore-y scenes were detailled and the author cared about the setting (the really disgusting parts also being the funniest).

I just would have enjoyed to read more of them keeping in contact with each other during the times they were apart because the author *tells* us how they talked everyday and learned a lot about each other but as these parts were not *shown* the reader is not up-to-date with there relationship (as in how it progressed) but still on the page of how it was it the scene 6 months before the next.

Spice(quality&quantity):
4/5
Quite detailed and the characters worked really well together. Also there is variety and especially his POV was goood.
