This is a solid YA dystopian series. The series starts with Sirena, Nor, and Reed, along with other characters who play lesser roles. It’s an interesting premise, though I think Sirena is a bit wishy-washy. Perhaps that’s intentional. It threw me a little when the second book shifted focus to Henley, Ace, and Jen. This book hits the environmental issues that led to the dystopian world more in depth, which is great to see. Things start to get tied together, and book three really brings everything into focus. I liked seeing the interactions between Reed and Jen, and though it’s complicated, I also enjoy the twist with Jen. I think the whole story overall could easily be adapted into a TV series or movie. There was one reference to autism that rubbed me a little bit the wrong way, but I know it wasn’t meant in a derogatory way. It just wasn’t really necessary to the story and embraces a stereotype. However, that said, I still enjoyed the read and would repeat read in the future.

This is a strong YA scifi series with likable characters and a well conceived plot. It's a little uneven at times, but still enjoyable overall. The plot has a nice amount of complexity and kept me engaged. Well written and fun.

Thanks very much for the review copy!!
