Thank you to the author for allowing me a chance to give an honest review of this book!
I am absolutely in love with the premise of this story!! It hits so many of my hobbies and loves with the mix of high fae and ballet and that twist thrown in with Hassanah is just chefs kiss amazing. There is mystery and adventure and steamy romance. That kept me turning the page.
Now the bad. The writing was a little hard for me to push through. I did and I am SO GLAD that I did but things were sometimes described a bit much or awkwardly and sometimes just didn't make sense. There were lots of random fancy/flowery words that didn't fit with the flow of the writing. I did appreciate having to look up the definitions of words (yay for kindle having one built in!) as that doesn't happen much anymore. The formatting on kindle was a little weird and the excessive use of ellipses was a bit hard to get used to. Some details didn't make sense either. Why would the main character complain about a nickname being used by a rival but then their friends continued to use the nickname throughout the entire book? There is no translation given for the second language sometimes used by the main character leaving you to have to figure out the language with limited context clues and then look up the translations using special characters. This could be easily fixed with a glossary in the book.
If you like longer books and can look past some rough writing I would definitely recommend this one.
