Despite the fact that the author's writing style was obnoxious, this book was full of great things that fit right into any classroom where reading is already a huge priority. I'll be using almost all the ideas in my class this year and am excited about implementing them.

This book was great for ideas for teachers who want to inspire their students to read. There are charts, worksheets and many other great resources in this book, including a references section which leads to you MORE resources.

I am a future teacher and I enjoyed reading this book because Layne was honest about trying to get children to read.

This is why I became a librarian. Not because of this book, but because I get to do the things he recommends in this book.

This book offers plenty of ideas for how to combat aliteracy. It’s the perfect book study book to use with our Lemme Reader Profiles grant funded by the ICCSD Foundation which focuses on targeting students’ interests and motivation to read.
