Winter is a likeable smartarse, but this is way too graphic for my tastes, I don't enjoy reading about torture. And as usual in the serial killer genre, women are always the victims.

nice start to the series, I liked the protagonist and will continue with the series. It's not very dark but still has an edge.

The main character in this is an ex-FBI profiler who now goes from jurisdiction to jurisdiction helping the local police solve serial murder cases. This is the first book in the series so we learn about his past and a bit about why he does what he does. This book is set in London and he is there to help solve a series of crimes that are almost murder, but not quiet, though many would think the victims would be better off dead than the way they end up.
Jefferson Winter is an unusual character, likable in many ways, but would be frustrating to be around all the time. I can see this being a good series to read, though Winter might get annoying after a while.
Well worth a read.

Tense and thrilling with twist and turns you wouldn't expect, along side a great main man
