Wow! Reading this book reminded me so much of why I loved the first two books in the Bridge Kingdom series and why I love Danielle’s style of writing. Her books are fast-paced and full of action at every twist and turn. I was only part way through this one and I was like yes! It doesn’t stop!

The book had incredible world building and political conflict, sometimes I even got confused myself. I had to reread parts to make sure I was understanding the different sides, lands, and their motivations. Even at the end I was trying to keep up with all the strategizing! But despite the heavy amount of plot, action, and strategizing in this book, it did not feel info dumpy. I was still intrigued and entertained every step of the way, even when it was discussing battle plans.

On that same note, I LOVED how the book explored the theme of war. It really highlighted the saying “there are no good guys in war” and how innocent people die at the hands of a single ruler. Each side had their own flaws. it was FASCINATING.

I loved Keri’s, and it wouldn’t be a Danielle Jensen book without a heart wrenching betrayal. Loved it 10/10

I didn't know I could love another character in these books as much as Lara, but both MC's in this book are fantastic! Again, the intricate storytelling is unmatched! I love the romance in this one. The danger the plotting and planning of our mcs is just stunning! The emotional depth of their story makes this book feel a lot more grown up.
