I really wanted to like this! I just can’t connect with Zahra and it’s only getting worse. I find her quips to be childish and unfunny and they take me out of the story. It’s upsetting because I was enjoying where the story is going overall. I’m into the astrology even though it gets way too technical. The gods are interesting but I don’t have a firm grasp on who each of them are. I could have happily spent all my time with Kane, Saturn, and the twins. DNF @ 58%. 3 stars because I really liked where the story was heading. If you can connect with Zahra you’ll probably enjoy the series.

DNF @ 65% of the box set. Squirreled to a new shiny and, once that was finished, had completely lost the will to finish this. Prior to that, I'd started skimming a lot, so I had an idea that would happen.
In between all the tomfoolery is an interesting plot and I think that if the author cut back on the corny comedy act by about half, the corny bits would be actually funny and the plot would move along at a better pace.
