Such a great book!!

I loooooved this book the writing pulled me in and made me feel like I was along for the adventure I have never been more happy about a why choose ever bc I love them both but MMC are exactly perfect for the FMC I cannot wait to start the next book and see what happens. I devoured this book and it never felt slow at all which was perfect to pull me out of my slump.

I did not know what to expect with this book. I liked the magic portion of this book but the romance of it just ruined it. The writing was a bit juvenile and it seemed lacking in some areas. The only part I enjoyed sort of was the humor. I will not be finishing this book. I have not a clue how it’s praised so highly.

Woahhh. i haven’t read a book that’s been able to balance comedy, world building, characters and just overall plot that well in quite a while. this book had me laughing out loud on multiple occasions. jex’s inner monologue is just so absurd sometimes but honestly, she’s so me!
the author has done a good job warming us up to her love interests as well as other characters she interacts with often. i care about the side characters.
and with the way this book ended.. girl i’m nervous!

This was a ARC and I can’t wait for the next. So I hear this is a RH and I can see it setting up but no RH action yet. Don’t get me wrong. There is spice. The kitchen scene has me wanting more of that. Damn alarms!!

The book is awesome and had me hooked on the first chapter. I love the smartass sass that is Jex. Such witty retorts. The ending had my eyes wide. Like what kind of cliffy was that! Arrrggghhh! There lots of plot distractions that kept me guessing on things. I don’t know if that’s the right way to say that, but here we are.

Potential spoilers

I had my idea on whodunit but I was way wrong. I do give myself credit for not going for the obvious though. I had someone else in mind. I didn’t know Derek was who he was but know who he was part of. Trying not to say to much.

I’m upset now that I have to not only wait for this book to be released but have to convince Becca to send me the ARC on the next one because I’m an eager beaver.

This book has an awesome magic system. Setting is contemporary. Although the series is why choose, I would say that you only meet two partners in the first book and it is more of a love triangle. I think this book was an awesome read. Highly recommend if you like Romantic Fantasy/Sci-fi.

Love love love it!

I loved everything about this book. It had action and romance. It was funny and the dialogue between the characters was hilarious! I would definitely read this again and recommend to anyone. It wasn’t that spicy but that is okay because this book laid the groundwork for the series and that is awesome. The cliffhanger at the end of the book just about killed me though!

This absolute gem of a book brought me back from years and years of a reading slump. Straight into my top 5. The writing was good, the story captivating, and the magical elements weaved so well into reality it felt very natural. The cover is beautiful, and the addition of a playlist to go with the reading was a great choice. This book had me squeeing, laughing and crying. And in the month since I read it I have been reading almost daily, so it indeed cured my reading slump. And I am very grateful for that!

As a downside, my brain struggled quite a bit with some of the terminology, and I had to keep referring to the glossary a bit too much. That being said, I read the physical copy twice in a few weeks, plus purchased the e-book, and the sequel. It was just that good.
