Devoured this book in a few hours. I adored The Island and was so excited when I heard of a sequel. It’s beautiful and I loved getting back in touch with the characters. Not a lot actually happens in it, it's more of a 'tying-up of ends' sort of story so wasn't as exciting or powerful as her other novels but still an enjoyable read.

The sequel to the Island. Good read, I read it in 2 days. But there is a certain distance to the way the story is told that held me back from getting very emotionally involved with the story. I don't remember that from The Island.
It is a story of passion, jealousy, great sadness and eventual peace, and even happiness, for many of the characters.
