Subtitle for Winter Notes on Summer Impressions: Why any respectable Russian should NOT choose France or Any European Country as a Role Model.

Dostoyevsky rips the French for lack of culture, lack of civility, and lack of morals. He attacks them as betraying Descartes, Rousseau, and all the other ideas that made them as a people, admirable in the in the late 18th and early 19th Centuries.

Great quick read of Dostoyevsky doing fine wit and humor. A most un - Dostoyevsky thing.
