If Love Had A Price merupakan buku ketiga dari If Love series nya Ana Huang. buku ini menceritakan kisah Kris dan Nate, yang bertemu di cafe tempat Nate bekerja. perkenalan mereka dimulai ketika Kris memberikan tawaran $10,000 pada Nate untuk menggoda tunangan bapaknya Kris yang mata duitan.
awalnya Nate bingung kenapa Kris menawarkan hal itu padanya? ternyata Kris tahu dari penampilannya kalau Nate ini bukan seorang waiter biasa, dia juga seorang aktor yang sedang memulai karirnya (aspiring actor). Kris juga merasa bahwa Nate merupakan tipe ideal tunangan bapaknya.
Nate tidak langsung menyetujui tawaran tersebut, karena Nate merasa dia masih punya harga diri untuk menjadi seorang penggoda. namun begitu, Kris memberikan Nate waktu 48 jam untuk berfikir dan mengambil keputusan.
karena terdesak ekonomi, Nate akhirnya menerima tawaran itu. tapi dia memiliki syarat lain yaitu, $15,000 dan ciuman dari Krisㅡkapan pun dia mau. SKSKSKSK KACAU BANGET POKOKNYA AKU SUKA MEREKA!! HAHAHA

On the surface, Kris Carerra is the quintessential rich girl. Spending the summer in her family’s Beverly Hills home, she is on relatively short leash while her father is away on business. She is to make nice with daddy’s soon to be wife and keep a summer job or she loses not only her credit cards… but the possibility of her inheritance she is to come into at the age of 23 could be negatively adjusted. The only problem is, her soon to be step-monster is nothing but a trashy gold digger whom Kris refuses to allow to take advantage of her wealthy father.
But, while she is the quintessential rich girl on the surface, in reality Kris is a strong and whip smart young woman who will do anything to protect her father: literally the only family she has after her mother left her when she was two. She concocts a diabolical plan to catch her step-monster Gloria having an affair. And the smoking hot server at her favorite café is just Gloria’s type.
Nate Reynolds is a young man with a dream to become an actor. Living in LA, he divides his time by auditioning, working at a café, doing other odd jobs… and taking care of his household when his alcoholic father simply can’t get it together for Nate and his younger sister after the death of their mother a few years back. When the gorgeous and unattainable Kris approaches him with an acting job, while it may be morally gray, comes with a lot of money attached to it. Can he pretend to be Kris’s boyfriend in order to lure Gloria into the appearance of an affair? And can Kris and Nate keep their growing attraction at bay?
If you can believe it, that is only HALF of the story. There is so much more packed into If Love Had a Price. So much of this book was based around family, with drama to make your head spin and immense growth that will soothe your soul. The secondary characters in this book are wonderful… well some of them are. Some you love to hate. All in all, this was such a fun and incredibly steamy little read. After Farrah and Blake’s top-notch romance, it was great to revisit this world that Ana Huang has created. She has a way of writing beautiful characters who find themselves in some precarious situations in the name of love.
