One of the most physically beautiful books I own, and full of pretty captivating poems

I won ‘So Bright So Bright So Bright’ in a Storygraph giveaway. I really enjoyed reading this. Of course, some pieces resonated with me more than others, but Lawlor’s writing shows so much potential. I am eager to read whatever they write next.

The following is my favourite piece from the collection, one of the most beautiful passages I have read in a long time:

Take your pain
unfold it
wear it warmly
on the surface of your skin
feel it raised
following,
branching from
trunked and rough-barked trauma
outward from arm and thigh
to delicate web,
crystalline at your warm fingertips,
and spread this newness,
this beauty from lightning,
this flash and heat
reaching from
 then to now.

some of the poems really touched me, others not so much (but that often happens to me with poetry). I really liked how the pictures accompany the writing

I really enjoyed this long poem and read it in one sitting.

Some parts resonated more than others, but I highlighted many lines throughout.

I found this opera a mixture between a short tale and poetry. I devoured it, felt the emotions as my own, kinda relating to some parts
