This was a super cute and silly story that tied back into the first couple of volumes with the kittens, a reference to Abigail, and the reappearance of Dianne . These three things plugged this volume into the rest of the series, which was furthered by the fact that it ended on a cliffhanger. I’m super intrigued about where the next volume will take me, and especially about finding out what was in Molly’s letter.
I liked the introduction of the Grand Lodge. It made the world feel broader, although I would have loved even more information on the Lumberjanes’ administrative structure - like, if there’s a Grand Lodge, then how does the High Council play into things?
It’s a shame they’ve gotten rid of the issue headers that would describe a particular Lumberjanes badge. They were a great way of framing the issue, not to mention they gave clear characterisation of the Lumberjanes as an institution. They do have one issue header for the cover gallery, but it isn’t enough for me!
Moderate: Excrement

I enjoyed all the kittens and the magic in this installment. It was great to see a plot point from earlier installments have an impact on the story again as it really makes it seem more like one whole cohesive series. It was fun overall, but by far not one of my favorite installments in this series.
