I may have read this book faster the second time around. I started it Sunday morning & finished it after work Monday! SO GOOD. I think, after reading all 7 in a row, that this is definitely my favorite because of all the adventure, excitement and twists.

And so, I unwillingly leave the world of Harry Potter. Again, I choked up at some of the less publicized (ie not in the movie) parts like Kreacher in the kitchen and the lovely mural on Luna's bedroom ceiling. Luna, truly a treasure, that one. For any who enjoyed the movies but have put off reading the books, some of the reasons why are far clearer in print.

January 2013 After all this time?

Always.

This is, interestingly, only the second time I have read the final book. Rowling really outdid herself and although the movies of this book were very good, the book is oh-so-much better. Her detail, her ability to wrap up the entire series with the big questions answered and the plot lines all completed, how she went back to bits and pieces several stories previous to tie it all up...fantastic. And she did it without being trite about the whole thing. Reading Deathly Hallows, I do not feel that she rushed to conclusion, or forced any plots. Knowing the various losses in advance, I do start crying well ahead of each one. ah well

“Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love.”

It is a curious thing, Harry, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who, like you, have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well.

One of the few books in which
Spoilerresurrection
does not bother me, and one of the best pictures of Christlike love in modern fantasy.

Auch wenn es nicht die gleichen vibes waren wie in den anderen Bücher, ich habe noch nie so eine gut durchdachte und spannende Geschichte erleben dürfen, einfach nur toll!!!

I actually purchased this book shortly after its release date and set it on my bookshelf to collect dust. Why? I told myself I would get to it. I pretended other books were more interesting. However, I think the truth is I wasn't ready for it to end. Now that I'm done with the entire Harry Potter saga I can say it was a fitting end to one of the best stories ever written. Not every book was fabulous, but as a whole this was by far one of the best I've ever read. A true story of good vs evil, with the main characters growing up before the readers' eyes. This series has all the elements of good storytelling and should be read by anyone of any age who enjoys an engaging tale.
