A fancy little story about a young orphan, a thief really, who becomes a wizard's apprentice. Our main character, Conn, is obviously the hero of the story and captures the hearts o the readers instantly.
Prineas' story may be predictable, but it is still entertaining. The first in a series and I can't wait to read the rest. I'd say it is a good book for kids still a bit young for Harry Potter. It is not comparable to Harry at all, but still a first good step into the realm of magic and fantasy books.
I found myself loving all of the characters and really was pulled into the story. I knew what was going to happen from the very beginning and was still pulled into the book with a want to read it. That characteristic alone makes this a good book for kids to read.

Doesnt quite hold up to nostalgia, but thats okay! Ive just very clearly aged out of the demographic here. Very cool magic system ideas though!

Very nice. Good fantasy for younger readers. Lots of pages, but it moves quickly.

Similar to Lyra's Oxford from the Golden Compass, this book tells the story of a wizard's apprentice and his adventures
