Mainly I read it to get insights into absurdism. I couldn’t get enough arguments to convince me. Moving on to “The Plague”.

I read it 2nd time,
Man is killed by the society just bcoz he is outsider?
Thats what we all are doing….
Killing a chicken just bcoz it can’t think like us? And escape or revolt?
I agree it as one of the popular texts, I will read it several times in my life.

Skimmed and read SparkNotes. But I like how this really tied into erasure book. That if you don't make meaning for your life that society will put their thoughts and feelings and decide what your actions mean for themselves

I had marked this as "read" and gave it three stars, but I don't remember reading it before today. In fact, I remember NOT reading it in high school and BSing an essay out of what the smart kids in class said.

Anyway, I think I liked it. I keep thinking about it, at least...both how it was written and about what the protagonist does and doesn't say.

It made me think about autism, apathy, and Amanda Knox. It made me think about the gulf between what one thinks and what one puts into the world to be perceived by others. Expectation, self-awareness, behaviors, self-preservation, moral consistency. Are one's actions a philosophy?

Glad I read the "American" translation and the author's note about Hemingway's influence.

Still annoyed by the discourse around the book, including what my IB English classmates said. I liked it, but I'm not sure how I feel about its place in the literary canon.

This book is all about existentialism. Does anything I do really matter? Does it matter if someone dies? Who cares? And the realisation when death comes near.

Heavy read sometimes but intriguing. The main character sometimes infuriated me but in a good way.
