What a fun read! It has the perfect fairytale aspect told in a child’s perspective but it is very dark. It reminded me a little of the show over the garden walls only there was a lot more darkness and death in this book. I was a bit bored in the beginning but the ending was very good and overall the book was well written. Bonus stars for the narrator doing all the creepy voices, he did an amazing job.

Solid 4 stars. I thought it was a beautiful story and well written, but it didn’t have me wanting to come back and read more. Also, I read this like 8 years ago - I’d forgotten most of it.
