This was an amazing read. It was a story about finding love when you least expect it. Adrienne and Paul have divorced their spouses, and are trying to move on. They met at the Inn when Paul was staying as Adrienne was watching it for her friend, Jean. They fell in love with each other as they spent more and more time together. I love Nicholas Sparks's writing style. It is easy to follow and he makes his characters really stand out. Paul Flanner is a plastic surgeon who can to the Inn, so that he can get closure with one of his patients's loved ones after her passing. I really felt bad for Paul. He was not the best husband for his wife, but I do not wish a divorce on anyone. Adrienne is a mother of 3 children. I felt really bad for her as her husband fell in love with his younger coworker. I thought it was unfair for Adrienne. I thought her character was strong and she was an amazing mother. I really loved how she told her daughter the story about her Nights in Rodanthe with Paul. The ending made me sad. I was not expecting that ending. Then again, with Nicholas Sparks books, I never expect what will happen. I loved the book. Enjoyed every minute of it. Overall, an incredible read.

I loved this book, cried a lot but found it so enjoyable to read. I didn't want it to end.

This was a very quick read. I enjoyed the premise of the story, but didn't feel as though either of the two main characters had a dramatic transformation from who they were when they met until the end. I enjoyed the backstory of the two main characters, but felt as though instead of serving as a way to justify the way they were acting at that time, they were stories that they told each other-- which means they had already moved past previously 'bad' behavior to 'better' behavior... which doesn't leave room for the positive influence of each other to change. I think the novel could have been longer to spend more time to craft a more subtle transformation if that was the author's intent.

Old people romance + mushy language didn't make for the best Nicolas Sparks novel ever written.
