Well I didn't dnf it and that's more than I can say for most things I've started the last two weeks!

This book started off really well for me. I like the prisoner/psychologist dynamic in lots of different styles of fiction, and the authors did that well here.

Constantine is a very fun, gruff and efficient mobster kind of character and Clare is very kind hearted. And the set up really was interesting.

But the ending was very rushed, and the sex scenes stared to feel unnecessary, yet not descriptive enough to just be good old decadent fun.

I think both the characters and plot needed work. It read like a first or second draft but I do think the writers have good style and I could see for the most part what they were going for, I just don't think they got there. They really needed better editing. Especially for the pacing.

I wouldn't reccommend it but if you like mafia romance in general I think you will find something to like most likely and it's a quick read.
