I loved seeing another story set in the world of The Others. Vicki is traumatized from her abusive marriage with her ex-husband. She starts taking over an inn that is the property of The Others. I loved seeing her relationships develop with the people in the town and the Sanguinati. I do not believe there will be a sequel featuring the same set of characters, but Anne Bishop is supposed to come out with another book in the world of The Others.

Another fantastic expansion on Anne Bishop's 'World of the Others'. I loved this story and Anne Bishop had me once again rooting for the demise of the human race. It is a great feat of writing when you are cheering for the death and subsequent eating of the villians. Please write more about this world - I can't get enough!

I like this book and The Others world. Bishop has a handle on how humans act and how their prejudices and actions can make it harder for other people. I hope there are more to come!
Some of my favorite small things in these series is how they use reusable things all the time. Also how the others work together to solve things.
Also how much Meg changed the Dynamics btwn the Others and humans

I received an e-ARC copy of Lake Silence from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. It was an interesting take on The Others world. It was nice to move away from Lakeside and Meg and focus on something different. This one was more of a mystery (almost a cozy mystery,) as opposed to a romance. And romance really wasn't the point with this book. I did enjoy the mystery and the others.

Grimshaw might be my new favorite. I really liked his parts of the book best along with Julian's. I had a harder time with Vicki. I found her funny but she drove me nuts at the same time. I liked the crows (Aggie was awesome) and Ilya (the best vampire lawyer ever) and the Lady of the Lake. I was not impressed with the big bad at all and was totally underwhelmed with their ending.

By itself the book is well written, with a good story. But as a book in the series of The Others, it's rather repetitive. The formula is getting very over used. It's the same story of a female escaping from humans in power which were abusing her, arrogant humans thinking they're superior to the Terra Indigene and getting themselves killed for it, etc. It's not exactly the same though, as the story was more focused on human side of things than the Terra Indigene, with the story being almost entirely told from a human perspective.
