I liked the aesthetic of this book a lot, and I loved the short chapters. However, the writing itself seemed like it was trying to be profound, but it wasn't? It was a fun little book of nonsense, but it tried too hard to impart "wisdom" that didn't make sense.

I read this book back in 2019 via audio, but lately I found myself missing it and wanting to read it physically, so here we are. I loved it then, I love it now. This book is part memoir, part short stories, part poetry, but 100% Jenny Slate (I said the same thing in my old review, but that doesn't make it any less true). As silly as this book can be, it also tackles subjects like loneliness, anxiety&depression, childhood, relationships & more with the utmost sensitivity and relatability. The book often is written so lyrically that it reads like fiction even though most of it is nonfiction. It's an interesting, short and sweet peak into Jenny Slate's mind and it's a book I know that I will continue to come back to.
