4th book by Shari Lapena and it’s not my favorite… Not bad in any way but not exciting and borderline predictable. Some twists were good and led to something promising but not as tense as I’m used to with the author.

Listened to this on Audio. Good narration. It was hard for me to get into this. I heard about this author on a pod. 75% through the book I just wanted to know who did it. I was always thinking is it Karen, her husband Tom or her friend Bridget. It was a bit predictable.

It was a Meh listen mystery.

This one was definitely a page turner. There were parts that were predictable, but you just had to turn the page to satisfy that itch of watching the plot unfold into its inevitable conclusion.

A wife in a car accident, loses her memory. A man is found dead in a restaurant nearby. Her husband is unaware of what truths will unfold.

I usually am not a fan of the amnesia plot line, but in this case it is done in a much more realistic manner than it usually is (this could also be that I found out my friend had had amnesia after a bike accident and she has told me what it's really like). The rest of the story is unbelievable, yet, you really can't look away. It's meant to keep you guessing, I didn't guess, I knew, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.

This is a fast paced read. Karen left her home and left her belongings behind. Her first husband is found dead. Did she kill him or the neighbor lady who had a crush otoryn your current husband. A story that takes many twists and turns,

One of the few suspense novels that was able to surprise me at the end. A great story.

Really decent entry into a favorite genre of mine. The plot and pace hit the ground running and don't really let up. The constant perspective jumps between the core cast kept things fresh, tense, and chaotic.

I was a bit... underwhelmed by the climax. It just kind of happened out of nowhere and I was left feeling like I'd been let down in a (non-existent) promise of an insane showdown. But all the threads felt wrapped up, with enough of a potential for a sequel.
