I have no idea what I read, but I liked the dialogue because it made me laugh. Having read the Wikipedia article, I can sort of figure out what it's about enough to tell someone else about it, but otherwise I'm quite lost.

Found a very old and pretty copy of this in a used bookshop and picked it up mostly because of the cover and title. I didn't really expect to enjoy it - plays aren't normally my thing - but I really did. Actually laughed out loud at a couple points. Nice to see that almost two and a half centuries later, people haven't really changed much. Also, Charles is MVP.

This comedy of errors was probably a big deal when it first published, but the humor and the satire are a bit surface-level, in comparison to other plays I've read or seen. Funny dialogue, but might have more of an impact when experienced as a live performance.

The more I read, the more I find out that old-timey plays are not my thing. Old-timey novels, I can totally do. But plays? That's a no-go. They're boring and unfunny to my modern-day sensibilities. I know that I was not the intended audience here, so that's why I'm not giving it a one-star. However, I really didn't like this, and will probably forget it soon :D
