My first from S.J. Tilly and I've enjoyed every bit of it.

Super binge-worthy, because it's not as heavy as we expect mafia novels should always be.

The charm Nero and Payton have, had me giggling and kicking.

I'm not usually a fan of instant love, but not on this one. They just have that strong chemistry.

I am looking forward on reading the rest of this series.

Payton is a poor girl with a sad past. One evening while at home a man breaks into her apartment while escaping the cops. He becomes obsessed with her, she goes a long with it because he is hot and rich.

I am trying to wrap my head around what I just read. This book has so many good reviews and I just don't get it. It is just so bad. It so poorly written and I was cringing half of the time. There was barely a plot. It's just about a woman who was once independent becoming a man's possession.

I went in wanting a mafia plot, but it was barely there. The big "conflict" ends so quickly and is anti-climatic.

There is zero character development, actually they regress. Payton was insecure, but independent and hardworking. She allows Nero to take over her entire personality and life. Nero has zero personality and depth.

I wanted to DNF, but pushed through. Honestly wish I had DNFd.

Tropes: mafia

I loved every part of this book it was so freaking good are male main character Nero is definitely in my top 5 if not three favorite male main characters in books I’ve read his appearance was nice the way he spoke his words ugh😩 I’ve never read a book we’re the main characters meet like this it was so good i lived for it and oh my goodness his possessiveness over are female main character Payton how he stalks her😩 when he takes her virginity😏😩I just loved every scene inside this entire book I cannot wait to read the other books in this series this is a happy ending in both ways😏 with no cliffhangers it’s definitely spicy🌶️🌶️🌶️it has no cheating and no love triangles there is one scene though we’re some people may find as cheating but I will say he doesn’t kiss or have sex with another girl so don’t think that🤣 other then that we’re good some of the tropes are virgin heroine, age gap, billionaire romance, grumpy x sunshine and I think a couple more I totally recommend this book do good😍😍overall I knew I was gonna rate this book a 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from the beginning

I really wanted this book to be good. It had so much hype surrounding it that I was prepared for some epic love story with a mafia boss and a touch her and die trope.
I guess, technically,  this story could be considered that,  but it tried WAY to hard and felt force all around. I was instantly pulled in from the moment Nero showed up on her balcony. I thought, "This is it! This is how you start a story!" I wanted them to sit on the couch and just laugh at the movie as if they were old friends and build a legit friendship. Her falling asleep with a total stranger on the run from the cops right next to her? It's not gonna happen. Yeh, right.  L-7 WEENIE!  The instant love/obsession was a bit ridiculous, and it took WAY too long in the book for any action to happen and when it does?? Disappointed isn't even a strong enough word to describe the letdown.  The author shouldn't spent even a little bit of time building a friendship or literally any other reason for Nero to fall in love beside she was pretty and had a nightmare 🙄 and then get mad later because someone else calls her just "pretty." Dude had the ability, but the relationship is totally shallow, and that's hard to connect with.
