Bree, an elf stumbles out of the rain and into a bar. There she meets Dragon shifter Lex who rescues her from some unwanted attention. Lex content being a loner isn’t ready for the whirlwind that is Bree. He suspects that she is in deep trouble and offers a couple of days sanctuary. Neither were ready for what those few days brought.
I really enjoyed how the writing flowed easily in this story. I didn’t feel like I was jarred with any transitions from one chapter to the next. The author had an astonishing voice as a writer the way she was able to communicate what her characters were thinking, and feeling was captivating. There were areas where I wish there was more. The plot at times felt like it was too fast for the storyline. While the events flowed and made sense, I personally wish that the angst was played up more. The story was dual POV and I really enjoyed how the author was able to seamlessly jump from Bree to Lex without it seeming weird. All in all it was a good book and I would continue reading the series.

I'm a little disappointed with this one. I was enjoying and having fun until we hit hit the 50% mark and it was down hill for me. Things were resolved very quickly and the smut scene was kinda meh. Also I thought we would get to see the pregnancy phases but we only got a time jump at the end.
