The setting is Hell's library. Humans, angels, muses, and other creatures live together to protect the various libraries in Hell. Through the events they change and become a family of sorts.

I appreciate how some of the chapter begin with expressing love for books.

I didn't enjoy The Archive of the Forgotten as much as I enjoyed The Library of the Unwritten.  Much of the conflict in this book could have been easily resolved if the four main characters sat down and had an honest conversation among themselves.  I don't tend to enjoy books where this happens.  I also found the end of the story wrapped up in a rush at the end with much of the book feeling fairly slow.

I do think Hackwith has some very interesting musing on what books and stories are to humanity and that was quite interesting and thought provoking.
